First Day of Kindergarten

My how time flies. Today was Will's first day of Kindergarten. His alarm went off at 7:30 am and he was dressed and ready to head out the door by 8:30. He has been really excited to start, but when I picked him up today, he really didn't have anything to say but that he liked it. He seemed to talk a little more about his day once we got home. Here are some pics before school started.

It has been a long time since I have blogged. The summer has been very busy for the Krebs'. Here are a few pics from our visit with Uncle Kain, Aunt Mickey, and Cousin Nigel. We are going to miss them. They are leaving this week and we won't see them until Thanksgiving.

Spring Break in North Carolina

We took a road trip to North Carolina to see Uncle Jay, Aunt Julie, and Cousin Derek. The 10 hour drive was a piece of cake for the Krebs' Family. Will and Frances had a ball in NC. The weather was good and they played outside most of the trip. We hadn't seen the outdoors for a while. Here are a few pics.

Every Friday evening in downtown Asheville, there are a group of people who play the drums. The music was great and as you can see, Will was having a great time. He started break dancing and here is one of his moves! We all were laughing pretty hard.

Since it has been a few weeks since I have posted anything, I thought I would share a few pictures from the last two weeks. We've been busy, but are really looking forward to warmer weather. This snow is making us crazy!!!!

We went to The Splash Park in Shipshewana for Molly Stock's birthday party. The kids had a great time on the slides and playing video games. Isn't this a great picture? Look how excited Caroline is.

Ski Trip to Nubs Nob

We had a great trip skiing with the kids. We went with the Miller Family who live right down the road from us. The kids all got along great and they even brought their 12 year old niece with them. It was nice to have her babysit every once in a while. Will and Frances both went skiing. It was amazing to see Will hop off the lift and head right down the slopes. It made me a little nervous, but Lance was a good teacher. Frances went down two big hills and enjoyed the ski lifts. She called them the swings. Enjoy the pics.

Christmas in Florida

We have made a tradition to spend Christmas with Papa Tim and Shelley in January. He are a few pictures from the trip. Our little chef made us breakfast before the flight down.

We had several Christmas' with the kids this past week. They received so many toys and clothes. I think both of them were a little overwhelmed. Frances' 2nd Birthday and Baptism

Well, it was a busy day here for Frances. Her birthday party started at 3pm and then we headed to church for her Baptism. She got lots of fun gifts. Let's just say, she did not have as much fun at the Baptism. As you can see from the pictures, she was not very cooperative. Piece of advice, don't Baptize your child at the age of 2. The rest of the family watching the ceremony seemed to have a good time laughing at us.

Blizzard at Crooked Lake

For those of you who don't live in Indiana, look how much snow we got last Sunday. A whopping 14 inches here at Crooked Lake. Let's just say our snowblower was not big enough for this job. Lance and Papa Tim spent most of the morning shoveling snow. The kids had a blast playing in it and sledding.

The Great American Clydesdales

We had our first trip to see the Clydesdale Farm out in Orland. What beautiful horses and what a beautiful place. All of the horses were out in the field and they came right up to us when we went to the fence. We can't wait to go back.

Papa Tim and Shelley came for the weekend to celebrate Frances' second birthday. The kids haven't seen them for six months. They were so excited. Frances received the Geo Trax Grand Central Station train set that Will loves. They have had a great time playing with it this past week.

Good Times in Arizona

We all had a great time over Thanksgiving. The entire Krebs family flew out to Arizona for a week full of fun. The kids really enjoyed seeing their Aunt Mickey, Uncle Kain, and new baby cousin Nigel. Frances sang him a song everyday and it goes like this - Baby Nigel, Clap Clap Clap Clap Clap. For those of you who were once cheerleaders, I'm sure you remember this tune. Brad Cates used to sing this song to Frances when she was a baby, and she loved it; I'm sure Nigel loves it too! Here are some new pics of the kids:

We have made it a tradition to carve pumpkins the night before Halloween. Lance and Will did most of the work. The pumpkins turned out great. Will's is a pirate ship, Frances' is a sad pumpkin, Lance's is a spider, and mine is a singing pumpkin.

The YMCA had a Halloween party for all of the kids here in Steuben county, and I think most of them showed up. There were lots of games for all of the kids, including bobbing for apples. Now, with the New Superbug spreading throughout the country, do you really think parents would let their kids participate in this game? Well, guess again, lots of parents and kids went for it; GROSS. Frances was a little freaked out with all of the costumes. Will, of course enjoyed all of it. We ended the night with the haunted walk. I actually got spooked.

Will was invited to a gymnastics birthday party last weekend. He looks like he is the only boy, but their were two other boys who are not in the photo. He had a great time with all of his little friends and is becoming quite the gymnast. His forward roll is getting much better. I have enrolled him in the gymnastics program, boys only, and he seems to love it. Watch out Mitch Gaylord; for those of you who use to watch gymnastics in the Olympics, back in the 80s.

Caroline Stock had her first birthday party at the pumpkin patch. All of the kids had a great time. There was a maze made of hay, a hayride, a petting zoo, and a corn maze. The lunch and cake were wonderful. You know the Krebs' family; we love cake. Will had two pieces of cake, thanks to Molly and Frances ate her entire piece.

Viva Las Vegas

Lance and I went on vacation to Las Vegas with Todd and Melyssa Stock. The kids enjoyed their vacation with Grammy and Papa Krebs. We had a great time in Sin City and actually came home with some extra cash; a great way to end a vacation. Enjoy the photos.

We had a great visit with Uncle Jay, Aunt Julie, and Baby Derek. The weather was perfect. The kids played outside, we all went for a boatride, and we ended it with an evening cookout. As Jason kept putting it, what a great day.

A Visit from Holly, Kennedy, and Ellis

We had a short, but nice visit from our friends Holly, Kennedy, and Ellis. They came in town Thursday evening and stayed until after lunch on Friday. Will had preschool on Friday, and Frances and Kennedy participated in a music class at the library while Holly went to visit her aunt on Lake James. The kids had a good time. Afternoon Tubing and Boat Ride

It was a chilly Sunday afternoon but Will insisted it was warm enough to go tubing. Sooo, Lance and I took the kids out for a boat ride. The lake was nice and smooth and Will had a great time on his new tube. Frances was the spotter while Mommy tried to lay down and take a nap, yeah right. Daddy was a great driver.

We had a great time at the Stock's last Saturday Night. Cabin Fever

Once again, we have had cabin fever this past week. The mosquitos and bees have been horrible, and so we have been doing a lot of indoor activities. Today we went outside for a little while. We took a walk and the kids rode some of their riding toys. Frances is doing well driving the jeep. In this photo, she just finished talking on the walkie talkie. Look how serious she is. Will just finished asking us if he could play bumper cars with Frances. What do you think the answer was?

Music Together

This was the first week for the fall Music Together class. Frances was a little timid at first, but seemed to enjoy it towards the end of the class. Molly and Caroline Stock are also in the class. This is a great picture; too bad this is not how Frances generally is to Molly.

Labor Day Weekend - Sunday

On Sunday, the Stocks, Tubergens, and Harmons came over for some fun in the sun. The lake was still closed to motorized boats, but the kids had a blast on the floating tube and riding in the canoe. We have missed the boat rides, but this was a nice change of pace, relaxing. Frances was sick most of the weekend, so she missed out on a lot of the outdoor activities.

A Night Out with the Gruners

We had a fun evening with the Gruner family. We went out for dinner at the mexican restaurant down the road and then they came over for some playtime on our new playset. Fun Day at FunSpot

Today our good friend, Kris, took Will, Frances, and I to FunSpot for the day. We had so much fun riding the rides, checking out the animals at the zoo, and eating lunch. At the zoo, the macaw was very entertaining with his dancing and chatter. The lions seemed to be very tired. A deer came up to Will and licked his hand, yuk! Will rode a few more bigger rides this time and he really seemed to enjoy the House of Glass. The kids were also introduced to dippin dots. Frances was in heaven eating these. Check out her dress.

Fun In The Sun

We had a fun day on the lake hanging out with our neighbor friends and our cousin, Maysa. We swam, played in the sandbox, played on our new playset, and last but not least, went out for ice cream. Scoops was very good. We were exhausted and slept very well.

Will and Frances had a fun day with Maggie, Molly, and Caroline. Will and Maggie played most of the time in the lake, out on the neighbors raft. Thanks Niemans for all of your fun water toys. Frances and Molly played most of the time in the sandbox, but did end up in the water for a little while. Molly has a few battle wounds from Frances. Sorry for all of the scratches Molly. Overall the kids played really well together and Melyssa and I got to enjoy a couple glasses of wine.

Will's Swim Lesson

Will had a great swim lesson with Lauren, who is also his babysitter, today at the YMCA. He was swimming underwater and dogpaddling with no assistance. Frances was cheering him on. He made us very proud.

With all of the rain last night and this morning, there were lots of puddles on Lane 345 Crooked Lake. Will, Frances, and Maysa went for a walk down the lane and to their surprise, there was a huge puddle in the neighbor's yard. Before we new it, Frances was sitting in the puddle. It was down hill from their; everyone was soaked, so we (MariJo and Amy) decided just to let them play. They had a blast!

Friday, August 3rd, was Will's first date with Maddie Tubergen. Of course they were chaperoned by their mothers. We all went to Casa Grill for dinner and then to see Beauty and the Beast. The kids really enjoyed the evening.

We had a great morning with Aunt Julie and Cousin Derek. It has been 2 1/2 months since we have seen them. Derek has gotten so big, and he is so good. Will and Frances adored him. We were able to spend a few hours with them and then they had to leave for Indianapolis. We will miss you Julie and Derek. Tell Uncle Jay we say hey.

Sunday at Crooked Lake

It was a busy day for Will and Frances today. The day started with Will singing at the small red church upthe road from us. He did a great job and he seemed to be pretty proud of himself. At the end of the service, the kids had Tom's Donuts (a family favorite) and lemonade. Just

imagine the amount of energy after this sugar combination. Frances enjoyed entertaining everyone. The girl never stops.

Lance and Will continue to put together the playset. Pictures will be posted once it is finished.

Also, we had some friends stop by on their boat. Will enjoyed playing with Eric, Bodie, and Clea. Frances napped most of their visit, but she woke up just in time for the photo op.

Vacation Bible School / FunSpot

Yesterday was a big day for Will. He went to Vacation Bible School

from 9am to 3pm. Frances wanted to stay with him, but we had

to go. She went to FunSpot with Mommy, and had a good time

on all of the kiddee rides. She also had a flower painted on her arm

which she enjoyed looking at. The kids were worn out after a long

day of fun and excitement.

We enjoyed the beach and pool with the Cates', Stock's, and Tubergen's.

I had sooo much fun on my trip to Disney World in May.

I missed Frances, but she had a great time staying

with GiGi. Thank you Papa Tim and Shelley for the

fun vacation. I love you.
